Vault Scavengers

Presenting the last bunch of painted miniatures for 2010 - a bunch of Scavengers making up another one of the factions in my wasteland setting, but equally at home in AE Bounty, perhaps eking out an existence on a waste planet? These are all sculpted by Mark Copplestone, with four being sold by em4 Miniatures and the rest from Copplestone Castings.
This is the gang in it's entirety - the only member missing is another of the ones directly from Copplestone Casting - a rather cool member of the gang in balaclava and wielding a shotgun. He's sadly disappeared from my painting pile, so he'll have to get some paint when I eventually re-find him.
The Scav leader - the first of the bunker to leave after several generations evading the radioactive fallout underground. Armed with a very decent combat rifle as well as various other tricks in his pack, this guy is a born survivor.
Reginald - always a bit of an oddball in the Vault, Reg was allocated "Cleanliness Supervisor". It was during this job that he discovered the bunker's overstocked rubber gloves cupboard...
Vlad - mechanic and tinkerer, constantly making improvements to the support weapon he carries for the team.
Anton - one of the forward scouts of the gang, Anton developed his recon skills during a youth spent in the depths of the bunker.
Tedward - former Merc, recently taken into the Vault as one of their own
Jeph - out to avenge the death of his father, who was recently eaten by a giant spider infesting a local supermarket..

Lovely models these, and very easy to paint. Washes tend to work on them very nicely. I may expand these eventually, but for now they're finished and ready to venture out to source the essentials that the Vault is beginning to run low on after being sealed for such a length of time.

Mr. Suit - generic wasteland ne'er do well, objective, philanderer, bearer of the Crimson Case - within which it is said lie the keys to a vast repository of equipment and resources for whomever has the nuts to get past his hired guards and zombie pets...

Random Works In Progress...

Harlequins - first assembled squad for my Dark Eldar. I've wanted to pick up some of these since returning to the hobby a few years ago, my best mate finally bought me a box of them for Christmas! I love these sculpts, although their shuriken pistols were horrible, clunky and not the graceful weapons you'd expect these combat acrobats to be using! I swapped the 4 in the unit with splinter pistols from the Dark Eldar Wyches.
Star Wars Yuzzem - the first of two Star Wars pre-paints that I received that were drastically larger than I'd expected. I picked up a couple of these from eBay as they were so cheap, so this one will receive a little sculpting work to cover up some moldlines and he'll appear in one of the planned AE Bounty crews. I switched out his piddly little pistol for a decent machine gun from the Void Junkers plastic kit. Quite cool that it looks like a pistol scaled up for his use! He's rebased onto a GW 40mm base.
Star Wars Loader Droid - probably a "VIP" or objective in games. He'd be transporting a crate to a waiting ship or somesuch, and the crews either need to stop or help him.
Star Wars Wookiee Scoundrel - another of the Star Wars pre-paints that has been rebased and received a pistol. The pistol is again from the Junkers sprues, where he's also received a shoulderpad from. He'll also get some sculpting work to cover up some moldlines that have been severely removed (by the manufacturer in this case).
Not sure what kind of alien this guy is, but this is the aforementioned other randomly-large Star Wars pre-paint. He's grown on me since I received him - I like that there's an air of Han Solo to the giant bugger! Another of the pre-paints suffering from crappy-gun-itis. He's got a snazzy metal pistol from Heresy Miniatures, a sword in sheath on his thigh and some extra pouches/rope/grenade from the Space Marine Scout sprue.

Finally, the not-Serenity from Ground Zero Games Full Thrust range. Would eventually be used in some space battle games to go alongside my planned AE Bounty games. I have a box of ships and interesting bits that will be raided for the project, but for now I've decided to just paint this.

In other news, I've also got around 8 other miniatures almost complete. If I decided to stay up a bit later tonight I could have them all based up for an update tomorrow (5 basic scavengers, the scav leader, a corporate fugitive and a not-Machete) but I'm feeling rather shattered and bed is calling... Ah well!

I've also just realised that I actually have 38 blog followers now - this is rather cool to say the least! Hey everyone!

First 5 Space Hulk Terminators complete!

I finally completed the first 5 Blood Angel Terminators for Mission 1: Suicide Mission.
 Sergeant Lorenzo
 Brother Zael
Brother Noctis

Rather happy with this lot - at least it's a decent chunk of the Terminators in the set complete!

The Savage Boys - completed!

Well, the "sacred vow" made in my previous post has been somewhat broken, but at least it's not something brand new that I've started working on...

I present to you, the Savage Boys, a gang of sadist, masochist and various other varieties of 'ists.

The full gang - three of these guys were painted previously, meaning I've painted 10 miniatures from undercoat to completion in a week. I really can't remember the last time I got even close to completing that much in a week, so please allow me a small amount of chuffed-ness..
Boris Savage, escaped Pit Fighter and leader of the Savage Boys, a bunch of raidin' good fer nothings, who ain't welcome in any of the settlements of the wastes, on account of murderin' more than their fair share of peace officers over the years..
Pyro Pete, a madman with a spray nozzle and a tank of flammable liquid strapped to his back. Rumour has it that he joined the gang after he torched the rest of his settlement down to the foundations of their shacks.
Jawbone, who is a key example of the kind of dental surgery one can find in the wastes.
Cuss, another fire-addicted eejit, with his custom built flamer built into the remains of a military rifle. It's rumoured that he actually volunteered to have that brace attached to his face when the rotjaw hit him - said it made him look "meaner".
Uzi Dave, I dare you to ask this little bugger why he's called that?
 Jimbo, generic ganger/gunfodder...
 Marv, with his homemade blunderbus.

Steroid Bob, right-hand man and second-in-command of the Boys. May have a slight addiction to Buffout, and no, it don't shrink your junk! Probably best if you don't ask that again... (this guy seriously reminds me of a local bloke who used to go to the gym I used to frequent...)

Whiplash, who is a little too heavily into sadism considering his young age. He'll be more than happy to spank you.
The Sissy - kind of the odd man out, this guy just tagged along after one of the gang's more infamous raids. He was the mayor of a settlement, claimed to want to join the gang for protection after they slaughtered almost everyone in the town. Forced to wear a tutu, he's yet to prove his worth. Kept in line by Whiplash. (this guy would also double as a zombapoc "psycho")

As mentioned, I'm very happy with these! I also just returned to the "vow", having worked on a few of the Terminators tonight for a while - hopefully there'll be more progress with them tomorrow..

A Sacred Vow...

Must paint these...
Before I get to start these...
Which should have been helped by this...
Largest amount of snow in England since 1965. Sadly, enthusiasm has been lacking - couldn't get in the painting mood! Oh well. Back to work tomorrow (after missing Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, being sent home early because of the snow on Wednesday and Thursday) and today has been mostly taken up with Fallout New Vegas.

Back on the painting horse soon!
