Got a decent amount done with the first half of the tree stands today - base edges beveled with sharp scalpel blades and sandpaper, sand and gravel added with PVA, excess brushed off once dried, made a few inserts with rocks (wood chips) and then undercoated all of the bare MDF and sand/gravel black...
Tomorrow will be about basecoating them Scorched Brown, drybrushing tan and stone grey, then the fun stuff - flock, leaf litter (dried oregano?!), fallen branches and logs etc. etc.
As mentioned in the earlier post, I have another 5 bases of these to do - with those I'll need to apply the foliage to the branches, so that'll be more work (to say the least!) and then I want to make more rock inserts, some with smaller scaled trees (which came with the other trees purchased from eBay) so I'll need to get some more of the MDF bases to insert in the larger terrain bases (thinking of stuff like Hordes of the Things here!).
Argh I need to build forests...and I hate building forests. Looking good buddy!
ReplyDeleteCheers Dave, they're on their way!
DeleteThey are starting to look really good!
ReplyDeleteNothing like trees to improve the look of a battlefield.
Thanks Mike - I'm in need of trees and other generic terrain just to make my other more specific terrain more useful!
DeleteLooking good. I need to make some decent trees this year.
ReplyDeleteThanks Simon :) They should come in handy for a number of projects, even zombie games!
DeleteThe forest is coming along nicely dude!
ReplyDeleteCheers Bob :)
