Zomtober - Week 1 - A Closer Look

Whilst painting the most recent batch of Studio Miniatures plastic zombies I decided to paint some as prisoners from the local county jail - orange jumpsuits and blue disposable shoes, a simple scheme that works surprisingly well. I'd assembled the figures some months back without this in mind, but by picking the ones with the most appropriate clothing and then finding some with a decent mix of arms (I've noticed that in various prison documentaries, the prisoners seem to modify their clothing - by removing the sleeves, for example) - some with short sleeves, most with long and then one with bare arms. I think they look surprisingly varied, considering that four of them share the same base body.
Once I'd painted the jumpsuits and given them a wash of Army Painter dark tone (I use the Devlan Mud-esque bottled one, better replacement for that than the GW Agrax Earthshade - plus, dropper bottle!) I added "COUNTY JAIL" on the reverse, then DOC on the front of each of them.

Enjoying Zomtober so far - check out the rest of the brilliant blogs taking part in this over on Eclectic Gentleman Tabletop Gamer! Thanks for the nice comments so far guys!

    1. It helps that it's a super-easy scheme too!
